Elvis was a favorite of Dad. While I think Mom appre­ci­at­ed Elvis, she prob­a­bly pre­ferred the more sooth­ing sounds of John­ny Mathis.

I think Dad real­ly liked Elvis for his larg­er-than-life per­sona and real­ly pas­sion­ate per­for­mances. Elvis could just as mas­ter­ful­ly sing ten­der bal­lads as songs with swag­ger. Dad real­ly liked danc­ing with Mom to some of these tunes show­ing the roman­tic in him.
